The Evolution of Oxygen1um: Moving Forward with “No Regrets”

In the ever-shifting landscape of electronic music, few artists manage to pivot as gracefully as Anton Tomilin. Better known by his moniker Oxygen1um, the producer has spent over a decade acting as a sonic chameleon. From the high-energy pulses of early EDM to the poignant reflections of indie rock, Tomilin’s career has been defined by a refusal to stay static.

Now, in 2026, fresh off a Bronze Global Music Award win, Oxygen1um is shifting gears once again, diving headfirst into the high-octane world of Drum & Bass.

A New Sonic Signature: “No Regrets”

His latest offering, “No Regrets,” functions less like a standard track and more like a definitive manifesto. Clocking in at a precise 174 BPM, the song marks a bold foray into Drum and Bass while retaining the sophisticated DNA of Alt-Pop—a delicate balancing act that Tomilin executes with the precision of an expert arranger. The composition is built upon a nostalgic piano motif that provides an emotional anchor, layered with overloaded Alt-Pop vocals that channel a raw, modern energy. This frantic tempo is grounded by a mellow, rolling bass line and punctuated by positive guitar riffs that reinforce the song’s optimistic core. Ultimately, the track centers on the metaphor of having “fire in your chest,” symbolizing a passion that refuses to burn out and an artist who remains proud of his journey, including the parts that hurt.

A Legacy of Innovation

Since 2014, Tomilin has established himself as a versatile fixture in the digital music scene, navigating a career trajectory that serves as a masterclass in creative adaptation. He first gained significant momentum in 2017 by carving out a niche within gaming culture through viral covers and inspired tracks, before pivoting to a more global stage in 2020 with the release of The Legend, an ambitious multi-language album spanning English, Russian, and Japanese. By 2023, his sound matured into political indie rock, marked by the vinyl release of Дурачки Ждали Чуда through the American label VinylMoon. This evolution culminated in 2026 with high-level industry recognition, as Tomilin secured a Bronze Global Music Award for Russian Indie Rock, cementing his status as an award-winning artist with international reach.

With over 12 million streams and a staggering 60 million YouTube views, Oxygen1um has proven that independence is no barrier to global reach. Whether he is producing localized covers or stark political commentary on Putin’s regime, his work remains tethered to a sense of authenticity.

Resilience as a Rhythm

The timing of “No Regrets” feels intentional. Following the heavy, reflective nature of his recent award-winning indie rock work, the transition to Drum & Bass feels like a release of tension. The song urges listeners to embrace past experiences without dwelling on the “what ifs.”

For Tomilin, the “fire in his chest” is clearly still burning. As he pushes further into the electronic soundscape, “No Regrets” serves as a reminder that the most exciting phase of an artist’s career is often the one they are about to start.

Oxygen1um isn’t just keeping pace with the industry; he’s setting the tempo.

What era of Oxygen1um’s diverse discography first caught your attention—the gaming-inspired energy or his more recent award-winning indie rock?
