Hold onto your Jell-O shots, because the coolest, quirkiest voice in indie-pop is ready to drop her debut album, and it’s a hilarious, heartbreaking masterpiece. Meet Nep, the Florida-bred artist whose particular blend of tender hooks, emotional intelligence, and sardonic humor has already earned her over 5 million likes on TikTok.

Now, she’s officially announcing her debut LP, ‘Noelle,’ due out October 24, 2025, and to celebrate, she’s sharing the riotously honest mission statement for her entire existence: the new single, “Florida Girl.”

Nep is the pop star who used the emotional chapter as a punchline. Her story starts in Daytona, Florida, a place she describes with the perfect bittersweet eye-roll. We’re talking sticky summers, endless motorcycle rallies like Bike Week and Biketoberfest, and the kind of small-town noise you just have to escape.

“Beaches are fucked, Daytona sucks,” she sings on her track “Biketoberfest,” and that’s all you need to know about the glorious, contradictory energy that fuels her music. It’s that push and pull—the urge to run away and the need to memorialize it all—that makes “Florida Girl” so damn infectious. It’s a defiant, self-realization anthem that reclaims her roots while simultaneously flipping them off. After all, “You can never break a Florida girl.”

Noelle is less of an album and more of a deeply intimate, yet cinematic, diary of youth. Crafted during her senior year at the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music with her best friend and collaborator Jake Sonderman, the album bounces from raw college party tears to explosive rock anthems.

Each track is a surprise genre grenade:

  • “All Around Beauty” captures the exquisitely messy heartbreak of running into an ex amid blue tongues, Jell-O shots, and tears in the bathroom.
  • “Black Car Song” starts as a delicate piano ballad before erupting into a glorious punk track complete with a heavy metal guitar solo. Seriously.
  • “Scar” leans into a bluegrass-folk feel before detonating into a harsh rock ending, proving friendships can wound us just as much as a bad breakup.
  • And for the finale? “July (It Feels So Lovely To Cry)” opens with a surprising big band sound that points toward renewal.

In Nep’s world, everything is fair game for the lyric sheet—from rage and betrayal (“I was a kid / You were a guy / It’s not fair / I was a girl”) to the catharsis of walking away.

After years of translating Daytona’s noise into brilliant songs, Nep is officially moving to Los Angeles, leaving Florida in the rearview. But fear not, fans—her humor, honesty, and heartbreak remain.

Catch Nep’s incredible energy live this November on her mini-tour, supported by Abby Powledge, where you can finally chant “Florida Girl” with her in person!
