Distance, Devotion, and Rebel DNA: The SoapGirls Sprint into a New Era
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

For Camille and Noemie Debray, the sisters behind the genre-defying duo The SoapGirls, music has always been a vehicle for defiance. But with their latest single, “Running,” that defiance is taking on a more melodic, emotionally charged form. Marking the first official release from their highly anticipated forthcoming album, Rebel DNA, the track serves as a high-velocity introduction to a new chapter for the band. While they have built an international reputation on a foundation of raw grunge and heavy rock, “Running” showcases their most commercial sound to date—pairing an upbeat, driving rhythm with the kind of heartfelt lyricism that bridges the gap between the mosh pit and the airwaves.

The single is the starting gun for what the band describes as a “waterfall” release strategy. Throughout 2026, The SoapGirls plan to drop new material with relentless regularity, alternating between their pop-leaning sensibilities and the heavier, visceral rock their “army of fans” has come to expect. This approach mirrors the energy of the track itself; “Running” is a song about the tension of distance and the refusal to give up. As the band puts it:

“Running is about loving someone from a distance and never giving up on the possibility of reaching them.”

This theme of persistent devotion is backed by a sonic profile that is as eclectic as their influences. One can hear the melodic DNA of Blondie and Fleetwood Mac woven into the gritty, distorted textures of Nirvana and Alice in Chains. It is a captivating blend that allows Noemie’s guitar and Camille’s bass to move from sweet, harmonic heights to raw, guttural growls in a single breath. By leaning into emotional honesty and authenticity, the duo is proving that being a “rebel” isn’t just about the volume—it’s about the courage to be vulnerable.

True to their reputation for explosive live performances, The SoapGirls aren’t staying in the studio for long. The Rebel DNA World Tour kicks off this year, bringing their new era directly to the people. Fans can catch them in the U.S. this May, followed by potential stops in Japan in June, and a massive sweep across Europe and the UK from September through November 2026. In an industry often characterized by fleeting trends, The SoapGirls remain a grounded, independent force, reminding us that as long as you keep running, you’re never truly out of the race.
